Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
Restricted stock units (RSUs) are a company's promise to give employees free shares once vesting conditions are met. Unlike stock options, you don't pay to acquire them, but they are taxed as income at vesting, often creating a surprise tax withholding gap.
