Edouard Heuer: The Father of the Modern Chronograph
Edouard Heuer (1840–1892) opened a watchmaking workshop in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, in 1860 at age 20 and patented the oscillating pinion in 1887, a mechanism still used in modern chronographs, laying the foundation for the company that became TAG Heuer.
